Request of arrest for 14 activists in DTK investigation 2020-06-28 20:25:18 DİYARBAKIR - Following the procedures in the police station 14 people were sent to the court with a request for arrest within the scope of the Democratic Society Congress (DTK) investigation.   43 people were detained on June 26 in the scope of an investigation launched for 64 people by Diyarbakır Chief Public Prosecutor’s Office over the data and documents seized during a raid carried out on October 9, 2018. 16 activists have been referred to court after the detention procedures were completed in the police station earlier today.   16 people, who were brought to the Diyarbakır Courthouse, were sent to the Criminal Court of Peace on duty, without their statements were taken by prosecution office. Rosa Women's Association administrator Rojda Barış, member of Confederation of Public Employees' Unions (KESK) General Assembly and Union of All Municipality Civil Servants (Tüm Bel-Sen) Ayten Tekeş, member of board of the Chamber of Mechanical Engineers-Diyarbakır Branch Arin Zümrüt, lawyer Berdan Acun, Fatma Bülbül, Velat Esin, Ömer Baran, Nesrin Şanlı, Hüseyin Kaya, Adem Firik, Mehmet Şengül, Aytaç Duymuş, Piran Başkurt and Ümran Baturay were sent by the prosecutor's office to the Criminal Court of Peace on duty with a request of arrest on charges of “being a member of the organization”.   Complying with the request of the prosecutor's office, the judge of Criminal Court of Peace on duty ruled the release of Aktar and Yılmaz with a request for judicial control. The court proceedings of other 14 names who were sent to court with a request of arrest still continue.
